The Climate Factor
Shivamogga (High Rain)
In the high-rainfall Malnad region, **Red Clay Bricks** are often preferred for their natural water-resistance when combined with high-spec plastering. However, poor-quality bricks can absorb moisture leading to flaky walls.
Davanagere (High Heat)
Davanagere experiences extreme heat. **AAC Blocks (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete)** are the gold standard here. They have tiny air pockets that act as insulation, keeping your interiors 5°C cooler naturally.

How to check
Masonry Quality?
The Metaliic Clink
Strike two red bricks together. They should produce a clear, ringing metallic sound. A dull "thud" means poor baking and weakness.
The Finger Nail Test
A good brick should not be easily scratched by a fingernail. If the surface crumbles away, the clay is not well-compacted.
AAC Edge Check
For AAC blocks, the edges must be perfectly sharp and square. Broken corners mean the block has been handled poorly or has lower density.

Regardless of what you choose, ensure the **mortar joint** is never more than 10-12mm thick. Thick joints lead to settlement cracks. For AAC, we always recommend specific **Thin-Bed Mortars (Adhesives)** instead of traditional cement sand mix.
